Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli has been utilized for more than 6,000 years in ornaments, and is known worldwide for its stunningly dark blue shading. The name of the stone is a blend of Latin and Arabic words signifying 'blue stone'. Lapis Lazuli has a rating of 5-6 on the mohs scale of its hardness; under extreme conditions it is quite sensitive, however it can also be used as a base for water colors, oil paints and tempera paints when grounded into powder form. This wonderful stone is accepted to symbolize truth and friendship.
